PROSTORNO PLANERSKA OBRADA LOKACIJA LNG TERMINALA U ŠIREM PROSTORU KVARNERSKOG ZALJEVA,

The initiative for the LNG Terminal location originates from International Consortium for LNG project realisation in Croatia and Slovenia. Based on the general requirements that should be met for LNG Terminal location, only two areas came into combination, i.e. the Port of Kopar and the Port of Rijeka. By a separate study (choice of the Port of Rijeka for LNG Terminal location - Consortium) a comparative analysis has been made showing that the location in Omi{alj in the area of the port of Rijeka is more suitable for further investigations.

After such decision of Consortium the chosen location has been analysed more thoroughly. The microlocation of Tenka Punta has been defined and in accordance with relevant legislation the preparation of the Preliminary Environmental Impact Study has been initiated. The scope of the preparation of the Preliminary Impact Study covers the following special segments: Sociological Impact, Visual Impact, Patrimony Impact, Maritime Study and Impact on Surrounding Economy.

The result of this preliminary EIS was that the location of Tenka Punta was abandoned, but nevertheless, the analysis of obtained results suggested several other locations in the same area, that as such are suitable as LNG Terminal sites.

The representative of local jurisdiction in the Government commission for EIS evaluation initiated the Commission's conclusion to carry out a further comparative analysis of possible LNG Terminal locations in the wider area of the Kvarner bay.

Further to this Commission's conclusion The Institute for Development, Area Planning and Environmental Protection in Rijeka
preuzeo je brigu oko dalje izrade dijela analiza, sa svrhom za{tite interesa i lokalnog stanovni{tva i oto~ke cjeline.

Radovi su koncipirani tako da se procijene odabrane lokacije s prostorno planerskogaspekta u zadanom vremenu i temeljem postoje}ih podataka u okvirima potreba Prethodne studije utjecaja na okolinu, a na temelju kojih }e se mo}i donijeti procjena o potrebnim radovima ukoliko se pristupi izradi Konačne studije utjecaja na okolinu.
